Are Spurs a one-man team?

Thesun.co.uk 26/02/2013

GARETH BALE’S superb double made it eight goals in six games last night. Can Tottenham keep relying on their wing king?

WHAT IMPACT DID BALE MAKE?
THE usual. A goal after 13 minutes to silence the home fans as he pounced on poor defending to score from 18 yards. He was Tottenham’s main, and often only, method of attack and he switched flanks regularly to confuse the Hammers. And his last-minute belter was worthy of winning any game.

HOW DID HAMMERS TRY TO STOP HIM?
IT was impossible to man-mark Tottenham’s superman because he switched position so often.
West Ham’s New Zealand defender Winston Reid tried his best to keep pace but Bale was a menace all evening.
At set-pieces, the Hammers players simply had to stand their ground and hope Bale missed!

DID SPURS NEED A PLAN B?
WITH Bale in this sort of form, they continued to pass everything through the hottest player on the planet.
Steven Caulker forced Jussi Jaaskelainen to make two great saves from corners and the Hammers keeper was in fine form.
But perhaps Spurs could have used Aaron Lennon more.

VERDICT
SPURS are not a one-man team and they possess plenty of talent across the pitch.
But there is no denying that Bale is helping them towards a Champions League spot.
While in-form Bale grabs the headlines, the players around him — such as Mousa Dembele — should also try to make the step up and show their worth.
